Whistler Sliding Center

Experiance Bobsleigh and Skeleton at the Whistler Sliding Centre

The Whistler Sliding Centre was home to the 2010 Winter Olympics' bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton (an individual sport in which the racer slides down the track head first) events. The Whistler Sliding Centre now offers public bobsleigh rides all year round and skeleton rides during the winter season as part of the sport experience programme. The track is also used for on-going athlete training, events and competitions.

Public Bobsleigh Ride

Experience the thrill of the Olympic Bobsleigh sport for yourself! Your Bobsleigh Ride begins with an orientation, helmet fitting, track etiquette, safety guidelines and a mock run. After the orientation, you will meet the Whistler Sliding Centre Track Crew, and with them, walk through your final safety checks. Once given the go ahead, a Track Crew member secures the sled for your take-of. A professional pilot will drive you and two fellow participants in the bobsled run of your life. As you accelerate down the track, you can expect to reach the final corner at a speed of 125 km/hr. The uphill outrun will slow you to a safe stop at the finish dock. What a thrill!

Public Skeleton Ride

The head-first experience of a lifetime! Your Skeleton Slide begins with an orientation, helmet fitting, sled familiarization, track etiquette, safety guidelines and a mock run. After your orientation, you will head to the Maple Leaf Start situated 1/3 of the way up the track and with a final safety check and briefing from the Whistler Sliding Centre Track Crew, you'll be ready for action! A Track Crew member will secure the sled while you climb on and ready yourself. The green light signals your release and you're off! As you navigate your way down the track's six corners, you can expect to reach a maximum speed of 100 km/hr. The uphill outrun will slow you to a safe stop at the finish dock. And with the adrenaline rush of your first run, you'll be ready for round two!
