Whistler Cat Skiing
Whistler Snowcat Skiing and Boarding
Cat-Skiing operates daily starting mid-December until the end of April. Space is limited to twelve people per snowcat to ski and ride our backcountry terrain. Book as far in advance as possible to guarantee your spot, especially if you're bringing a group. Don't worry though, if you just found out about this great activity and you're in Whistler right now, we can often squeeze you in for the best powder day of your life, with as little as one or two days notice.
A full day of backcountry skiing or snowboarding in Powder Mountains 4,300 acre ski area typically includes 7,000 to 10,000 vertical feet with 6-10 runs being average. The record is 15 runs; extra runs are included at no charge.
Transportation Transportation is provided for the roughly 20 minute trip between Whistler Village and the Powder Mountain Cat-Skiing Base both in the morning and at the end of the day.
Lunch & Snacks A gourmet deli style high mountain lunch is provided. Snacks and beverages are also on board to keep your energy level up.
Guiding & Instruction There are two certified guides per group of 12 people. Your "Lead Guide" will always be in front of you choosing the safest route and the best snow for each run down the mountain. The "Tail Guide" will always be at the very end of the group. Having two guides ensures that everyone has the same experience and we can provide you with the safest skiing and riding possible. If some of your friends are learning to ride or ski powder, the guides are also certified instructors who can give pointers, making everyone's day more fun.
Safety Equipment & Orientation At times, the backcountry can be a wild and unpredictable place. Use of transceivers and a mountain safety orientation session for your backcountry awareness are included.
